Introduction

The Hungarian YMCA was founded in the second half of the 1800s and its main focus is Jesus Christ and his missionary command. The articles of association is the Paris Basis which was reaffirmed in the world conference in 1855.

 "The Young Men's Christian Associations seek to unite those young men who, regarding Jesus Christ as their God and Saviour, according to the Holy Scriptures, desire to be his disciples in their faith and in their life, and to associate their efforts for the extension of his Kingdom amongst young men." (Paris Basis, 1855)
 

And there joined the program with four missions on the basis of the Gospel according to Luke.
"And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and people." (Lk 2:52)
The aim of the YMCA is to nurture people mentally, spiritually, socially and physically.

The YMCA in Békéscsaba, after its reformation as one of the Hungarian YCMA-s started its operation right after the political transformation in 1991.
